Fluid sac behind knee

Description

Bakers cyst or fluid sac behind knee is fluid bag that makes lump behind the knee, it is also known as the popliteal cyst. Fluid may lower down the leg and cause the swelling, which might be wrongly interpreted a deep venous clot.

Knee pain, swollen knee, swollen calf muscle.

Overview

History of disease is being taken and physical examination is being done. Diagnosis is normally done with ultrasound, but magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT scan can also be used.
