Allergic rhinitis

Description

Allergic rhinitis is a condition in which there is inflammation of the nasal mucosa in response to irritation and may lead to inflammation of the upper respiratory tract.. The hypersensitive response of immune system occurs in allergic rhinitis as reaction on Inhalant allergens. This is common disorder affecting at least one quarter of the population. Patients suffer from a runny nose and sneezing.

Symptoms

Sneezing, rhinorrhea (runny nose), coughing, itching of eyes, watery eyes.

Anamnesis will be taken and medical examination will be done.

Therapy

Treatment includes: antihistamines, steroid nasal sprays and/or eye drops. Patients are being recommended to avoid known irritants and symptoms’ triggers.
