Herpes vulvovaginitis or viral infection of the vagina. Herpes vulvovaginitis is sexually transmitted disease caused by virus herpes simplex (HSV). HSV-type 1 usually causes lesions similar to blisters on the mouth or face (oral herpes). HSV-type 2 typically affects genital area (genital herpes). Rash from HSV may withdraw but the virus remain dormant within the nerve cells.
Painful blisters in vagina and vulva which recurr periodically.
Anamnesis will be taken and medical examination will be done. Smear from the blister or direct fluorescent antibody test (DFA) to determine diagnosis.

Therapy includesantiviral therapy (acyclovir),nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (brufen/ibuprofen, naproxen), and painkillers like paracetamol. HSV lesions may reccur when the patient experiences emotional or physical stress.
