Psychogenic illness

Description

Functional disorders or psychogenic illness. Disorder which is characterized by the symptoms with unknown or undiscovered origin. This is a condition which is considered as psychogenic by nature. The examples involve certain cases: chronic pain in abdominal area, pain in lower back, chronic tiredness, chronic chest pain and chronic headaches.

Symptoms are various depending on the body system which has been affected.

Overview

Anamnesis is being taken and physical examination is being done. An examination by a psychiatrist may be recommended. Detailed examinations should be done to eliminate other causes for appearance of the symptoms.

Complete blood count (CBC) and biochemical blood analysis.
